FINDING YOUR WILD BODY

HEALING MOVEMENT

WITH

ANNA MURRAY PREECE

MOVING WITH YOUR ‘WILD’ BODY

Your ‘Wild Body’ connects you to your inner knowing, the pulse of nature within you.

As a child it’s likely you were closely in touch with your ‘Wild Body’, you knew what you needed and when you needed it. As you grew up you will have learnt how to tame or civilise this, allowing you to negotiate and co-operate with others. This may however have resulted in your losing touch with, or devaluing some of your wild

nature. ‘Finding Your Wild Body’ through Healing Movement is about re-connecting to the ‘wild’ part of yourself and exploring how you can be with it in your daily life in a way that honours both your wild and tamed aspects. It is about standing on the threshold and honouring all parts of your being.

  • This allows you take time for yourself to listen to your needs and fulfil them.
  • It enables you recognise and honour the inner scream that tells you that something is not good for you.
  • Most importantly it helps you to have the courage to follow your heart when it begins to sing….
  • Following your heart voice leads you to where you need to be in yourself, in your life and in relation to others.

HEALING MOVEMENT

is a way of connecting to your wild body though listening with presence and awareness to your body’s energy. Through this you can become more aware of, and practice expressing your energy as it arises, and resting with it as it withdraws, thus following your own natural rhythm and opening to the wisdom it holds. Moving mostly without music but sometimes with sound you can learn how to keep your body alive, awake and open to the spirit flowing through you. This allows you to be in touch with, and receive yourself in your core nature thus enabling you to emerge into a fuller sense of embodiment.

From this work, which is largely grounded in an indoor studio space you can begin to explore your wild nature outdoors, from an embodied perspective.

OPENING TO THE WORLD OF PLANTS

As you may experience between human beings, there is an energetic point of meeting and communicating that plants in particular are very open and responsive to. Being in touch with your ‘wild’ body helps you to connect to, communicate and receive guidance and help from the Plant Spirits that surround us. Opening to the quality of a plant can help you to open to that quality in yourself.

These workshops give you time to open to your physical and energetic awareness of nature and the world of plants.

Explore texture, shape, colour, feeling, sensation and your deeper spiritual connection to plants.

Anna brings her experience of movement together with her practice as a Plant Spirit Medicine Practitioner to facilitate a deep healing relationship with nature.

BACKGROUND

Working through the body has always been both a joy and a necessity in my life. My first introduction to this was through intensive study of Tai Chi for around 9 years. In 1991 I began studying movement with Sandra Reeve and subsequently trained with her to teach "Move into Life". I also studied and apprenticed with Suprapto Suryodarmo in the UK and in Java. Other teachers I have worked with and been inspired by include Adam Bradpiece and Ruth Noble. I recently completed training in "Rhythmic Healing' with Ruth Noble. In 2000/01 I participated in the Karuna Foundation Course in Psychotherapy.

I have been facilitating "Healing Movement " for around 13 years in various contexts, workshops, individual sessions and ongoing groups. I facilitated a group at Harmony Rehabilitation Centre for adults with addictions for two years and have co-facilitated meditation and movement retreats in Tibetan Buddhism with my husband Rob since 1997.

I have practised Homoeopathy for many years, qualifying from the School of Homoeopathy in 1987 and tutoring at the college for 9 years. Since qualifying in 2005 I practise Plant Spirit Medicine having trained with Eliot Cowan who is a Tsaurirrikame (elder shaman) in the Mexican Huichol Tradition.

My approach to movement has been very much informed by my own process of healing and the growth that this has required. I am influenced considerably by my practise of homoeopathy and Plant Spirit Medicine, working with nature has been a large part of this. Buddhist meditation practise has also supported and nourished me for many years. Being a Mother to my two sons has brought me much joy, and many challenges on this path.
